UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema has passionately appealed to each and every PF member to search their hearts and see if what they are doing right now shows respect to late president Michael Sata. Hichilema was commenting on events that unfolded Monday evening when acting president Guy Scott fired Edgar Lungu and replaced him with Chipili MP Davies Mwila, who within an hour declined the appointment. Some PF cadres and students were reported to have started demonstrating. Mr Hichilema said what is happening is a direct dishonour on late president Michael Sata. Hichilema appealed to PF leaders starting with acting president Guy Scott to show restraint and leadership in this trying time the country is going through. Hichilema reminded the PF and the country at large that, due to the national funeral, the eyes of the world are right now on Zambia and that it is the duty of every Zambian to safeguard the integrity of Zambia. Hichilema says what has happened this evening can easily send a wrong signal to the rest of the world especially that Zambia has a global reputation of being an oasis of peace and has always managed transitions with dignity and admiration. Hichilema says there are visitors who are in the process of coming to Zambia to mourn the late president but that what has happened can make it difficult for visitors to sympathise with Zambians. Hichilema says his heart bleeds to see that confusion seems to be engulfing the ruling party even before president Michael Sata is put to rest. Hichilema has urged all Zambians from all corners of the country to put aside their differences and mourn the departed leader in dignity. There is time for everything; we shall have time for politics but right now lets mourning our departed elder, Hichilema said Courtesy Freedom speech
