***URGENT PLEA TO SAVE THE LIFE OF MORRIS*** We just became aware of Morris, and his unfortunate set of circumstances, tonight. He came into the NYC ACC after being bitten, or attacked, by another dog. Because the vaccination history of the other dog is unknown, he was immediately put on a DOH (Dept. of Health) quarantine hold. This means he needs a 6 month quarantine and to be pulled by a rescue to make it out alive. Whats really tough to swallow is that Morris is only 2 years old and a complete love bug. He did nothing wrong, nothing to deserve his circumstances. But, his DOH hold, at the shelter, has been released, so this means that this amazing dog, a staff and volunteer favorite, will be killed tomorrow wo a rescue to pull him. Its not just as simple as a rescue to pull him b/c a 6 month quarantine is very expensive. He may be able to do most of it in a home, but that would have to be approved after the fact. If anyone out there is able to sponsor Morris and/or take him in for part of his quarantine, please reach out to a New Hope (NYC ACC) approved rescue asap! Its not likley hell get an extension and he isnt on tonights official list where he can be reserved.
