Uganda needs more opposition MPs in Parliament Since the NRM is the ruling party, I think fewer of their legislators should be sent to Parliament. This would promote the duty of the House, which is to exert pressure onto the sitting government to deliver or account for its manifesto promises. Sadly, today we have a dormant Parliament that can hardly threaten the government. It always sides with the government position on any policy. It has failed do deal with laws that require amending and has overlooked enactment of necessary laws. We have, therefore, bred a crop of people who evaluate politics, not for the good of the country, but as a monetary medium to enrich themselves. Caxton Kasozi-Batende Carolyn Orach Like
