Ugh. What a day. Noah had been on 80 of flow, and not peeing well. So had his chest washed this after, to see if there were any clots pressing against his heart and decreasing his function. After that they were going to do a transesophageal echo. Apparently during the wash, a clot broke free and reached Noahs veinous cannula. It shut down the ECMO machine. They changed the machine out quickly enough to avoid having to so chest compressions, but Noah needed quite a bit of fluid, dopamine and epinephrine to maintain his own while the change took place. Hes safely back on, and things look fine.. But Noah became positive over 1000 mL. So we have a lot of fluid to lose before we can get back to where we were. On the bright side though, Noahs heart function still looks good, so thats not giving out on him yet. But well go to the cath lab tomorrow morning to get better pictures, and see if there are any tweaks we can make. Pray for him!! ❤️💙
