Uhhhhgggg okay life has taken some drastic turns for me the past 2 1/2 years -- from getting sober and staying that way to dealing with health issues as well as a child with challenges and dealing with lots of my own inner demons! Over this summer in the midst of recovering from 3 surgeries in a 11 week time span, and that little job called moving I have had quite a bit of time to think about where I want to go and do with the rest of my life. For the past 15 years it has been a secret overwhelming dream of mine to go back to school. But for various reasons I put my dreams aside and went on with a life doing what I thought I was supposed to do. Well I have taken a total leap of faith (giving it all to God) I left my job at a Jesses school and have begun trying to enroll into a local university. however transgressions of my past and lack of a less than mediocre performance in college back in the early 90s has caused issues of whether Im capable to carry an academic load or not. That being said Im having to jump through a few hoops that seem discouraging but doable. I went into this knowing full well that there would be those who would react negatively to my choice, and thats fine they are entitled to their own opinions and Im entitled to follow my dreams. Its a daily battle to squelch the voice of my past telling me Ill never be good enough or Im a failure--I got one thing to say to that --THEY ARE WRONG! Im getting more and more determined to achieve this goal with every hoop and hurdle I have to jump thru/over! My goals this fall are to take whatever testing they want me to take, get financial aid squared away and come Spring Semester be a full time college student! So if you happen to think of me over the course of the next few weeks/months whisper a prayer that this challenge becomes easier and also that I might find an office job with flexible 10-20 hours a week that can work around both Jesse and my school schedules.
