Unfortunately last night’s #sneak preview was not the last Oscar - TopicsExpress

Unfortunately last night’s #sneak preview was not the last Oscar nominated movie for best picture I haven’t seen yet. It was THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL. The new film of director Wes Anderson (FANTASTIC MR. FOX or THE DARJEELING LIMITED) brings us into a shabby hotel. When a young writer (Jude Law) meets the owner (F. Murray Abraham) he tells him the story of Gustave H (Ralph Fiennes), the concierge at the formerly famous European hotel and himself, Zero Moustafa, the lobby boy. Gustave is a servant with very special services to the female guests. When they steal a precious painting the family of Gustave’s last love tries to get hold of them and the painting. So the crazy story becomes even crazier. The movie is a weird story with a lot of well-known actors. As in DARJEELING LIMITED there are Adrien Brody and Owen Wilson and besides them Willem Dafoe, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Murray or Edward Norton. But good actors aren’t a synonym for a good movie. So I think it’s definitely no must see movie – maybe on TV. I rate it 6 out of 10.
