Units from Angelus Oaks Station 98 responded to a report of a vehicle on fire, with the fire spreading to the vegetation today at approximately 1:30 p.m. today. Units from the US Forest Service, Bear Valley Fire Department and CalFire also responded. The first unit on scene, USFS Engine 17 from Converse, confirmed the vehicle and vegetation fire and reported that the vehicle was located approximately 20 feet off the roadway. Aggressive action by the responding agencies limited the vegetation fire to an area of approximately 50 by 50 feet. The driver was not injured, but the 2014 Subaru was a total loss. Highway 38, which was closed during the incident, was reopened at about 3:30 p.m.
