Up early working on my new book before hitting the gym. In doing some research, I pulled up this great article from Psych Central examining the stages of grief we go through when we, or a loved one, are diagnosed with a severe or terminal illness. At university I studied these stages which were immortalized by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross in her book, On Death and Dying. Going through my own journey with MS, I went through each and every stage with the exception of the final one - acceptance. I refused to accept the eventuality that my diagnosis would lead to a wheelchair.
