Upcoming Workshop: ARTS IN THE SCHOOLS Grant Program AND ART STUDY OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUTH Grants Thursday, February 6 • 7 - 8:30 pm SW MN Arts Council, 114 North Third Street, Marshall We will cover two grant programs at this workshop: The Arts in the Schools grant program has an upcoming deadline of February 28, 2014 (4:30 pm cutoff). Public schools in SW MN can apply for up to $2,500 for artist residencies or up to $1,000 for field trips in Minnesota. There is no cash match required of schools that apply for this grant. The Art Study Opportunity for Youth grant program has an upcoming deadline of February 28, 2014 (4:30 pm cutoff). Students in grades 5-12 who live in the 18 counties of the SW MN region can apply for up to $500 in funding to study their chosen art with a practicing professional artist, attend an arts workshop, series of classes or a special training opportunity. Use of funds for this category may NOT be used to participate in a school or organizational band or choir trip, nor for standard weekly lessons (such as piano or voice lessons.)
