Update - Mom is really doing so well - physically and mentally. Still needs someone with her 24/7 especially when transferring/walking - but is doing so well. Tonight they stopped at ACE on their way to my home and bought a pig yard ornament type thing - when I asked her why - she said Its to put under the tree in the backyard that I planted in memory of my dad. Ive been looking for something and thats exactly what Ive been wanting. - HUGE - the woman who has been asking to go see her Dad just on her own realizes he isnt with us anymore. Then - tonight while she was watching a movie I watched the first video of her talking and she asked what it was and we watched them all together - Feb 19 (when she woke up) to today - and she sternly said to me You know Ive been so down and depressed and so mad that everyone is saying oh Theresa you are doing so great - because Im not - but now that I see how bad I was I have hope! WHY didnt you show me these sooner!?! Then she started to get tired and said I need to go to the bathroom and you need to take me back to the nursing home. Then when we were getting ready to go she said Get the kids - lets run through and get a cone on the way there. Such a great evening with her! She gave dad a hug goodbye and told him how happy she was to watch all those videos - we laughed and laughed at the things she would say in those videos - and I cried off and on - but wow - she really has come so far. Then tonight after I put her to bed Danielle Petersen, Sherry Warner and I were talking and its amazing just how much better she has gotten since she came there - how we didnt really think she would ever be able to return home with dad - but now we see it is a possibility. God is good!
