Update on Daniel, March 13: Happy Thursday all. Daniel has had two good days. Lots and lots of SMILING! We like the smiling! No pain meds thus far today! We are amazed and thrilled for this new day! Yesterday Daniel attended speech where there was more cognitive therapy. Today he attended an appt. with the neuro psychologist. She asked him questions about his well being and what he feels might be a bit off or different since the incident. He just said he feels more slow because he of his broken wrist. He said he feels lazy but when probed more, the answer should have been bored. :) For a boy who is never inactive, to not be able to do things for even a day is boring. Im glad for boring. She wants him to head back to school on Monday! She said that he should do a consistent day but a modified day. So, two classes and then home. This will continue for a week or two and then well add as appropriate. If you come by to see him, he is very quiet. Even for Daniel, very quiet. When asked about this he stated he was a little overwhelmed by the focus on him. Also, he said he gets the same questions often. When a person doesnt remember anything about what happened and you have to repeat what you were told happened, are you lying? Not really, but hes an honest kid so this seems dishonest. He generally starts out by saying, well, I was TOLD..... We are all breathing easier. We have to make the decision as to who will follow up on Daniel from a physician point of view. Do we go w/ our pediatrician or a neurologist. Im thinking the latter. So, lots more normal going on here! Lots more smiles and happy times! Thank you all for your continued care and thoughts for Daniel and our family!
