Update on Donna Birdwhistell - I know my dad wants to keep so many special people updated about Mom...I will try my best and thanks Sherri Hinton White for your earlier post...Mom got through her surgery (2 total knee replacements) and is resting now in her room. Dr. Fee said that the surgery went well and that her knees were in much worse shape than he had expected..he said shes gone through part 1 - and I feel sure the hardest part is next as she goes through rehab. Pop is staying with mom tonight - he wants to be the one right with her, and it was so sweet to see the love he has for her. Mom was talking and sounded pretty good, considering what she has been through...she will be in the hospital for a few days with a rehab stay somewhere to follow. It has been a very long day and I know all of the prayers and kind words have helped us all...The Birdwhistells know how many truly good friends they have and are so appreciative for all of you who have helped them in countless ways over the past few years. My mom and dad would want me to pass along how much they really love all of you! And as for Mom, Ive always known she is an angel on this earth - there is no doubt in my mind that she is the kindest person I have ever known and Im hoping that all the blessings she deserves will bring comfort to her now. As the New Year approaches, I wish for each of you much happiness and peace...Ill try to pass along information as I can - keep my parents in your prayers - I know the prayers work!
