Update on Kurt: July 29--First night with no oxygen--checked his blood oxygen levels this morning and they were at 99%--hooray!! We wondered if we would sleep without the hum and swoosh of the oxygen machine--happy to report that we slept soundly in the silence. Since he can move about much easier now and doesnt get worn out so easily, we ventured out this afternoon in search of a coffee shop and ice cream shop in downtown Zionsville. We love this little town--its our kind of place. Its so relaxing to walk around at an easy pace; its truly a good place to convalesce. Ive never seen so many flowers in a small space. Oh, and the coffee was found (along with some killer wifi Im told) as was the ice cream--gotta keep him eating, you know :). We were able to skip the trip to IU North this morning for blood work; the oxygen company will come and pick up the equipment tomorrow. We pray this progress keeps up. Once again (and I hope we dont sound like a broken record) thanks so very much for the prayers and the cards. Hes continually gratified anew by your gestures of kindness, be it a like on the daily update FB post, a kind comment, a message, or a card. Its good medicine indeed. Every day brings us one day closer to getting the call; every time the phone rings we look to the caller on the screen. We know that someday well see our coordinators name, or the unknown caller weve been told to look for. Weve been given the gift of time to talk about this and how life is now and will be. Its a good gift. Blessings to all and goodnight
