Update on Tiahna Fitzsimons..... Was in theatre from 8.30 till 3.05 and in ward at 5. I spoke to surgical team and they removed a 5 cm tumor from her spinal cord which was heavily attached to her main nerves that control the bottom half of her body. It looks to be benign so 90 per cent was taken out only as if it all was taken she would have been in a wheelchair for the rest of her life. Her nerve cluster and nerve endings were completely flat instead of round as they were being crushed by the tumor. She has good strength and feeling in her legs and has now just have to recover. Prognosis they said was very good and she will be back in no time she said. She ask me to tell u all this and that she is ok and to thank u all for Ur well wishes... Will keep u all updated as we know more....
