VERY late night XFS: Cerebral results: 7/19/14 ** Daniel Cumpian vs Steve Orosco ** Rd 1: Orosco comes with the flying knee and takes a kick from Cumpian that up-ends Orosco. He hits the mat and Cumpian tries for the choke. He wont let go, but he doesnt have the position to finish. Orosco reverses and gets Cumpians back to get the standing RNC. ** Benjamin Fanjoy vs Danny Aguilar ** Rd 1: Aguilar starts by kicking, but he is a BJJ ace and you know he wants it on the ground. Fanjoy gets the takedown, which may turn out to be a bad idea. Aguilar threatens with subs and shows flawless transitions. He tries for subs but gets clobbered with Fanjoy fists. Tough to call. Even round, with slight edge going to Fanjoy. Rd 2: More of the same from both guys. They get up and Fanjoy wants to strike. They get close and Aguilar pulls guard, again looking for subs. Fanjoy gets mount and drops punches. He stands up thendrops to side control and finishes the round dropping elbows. 10-9 Fanjoy Rd 3: They touch gloves and get to the dance. Aguilar throws a knee and gets taken down with Fanjoy in side control. Aguilar is exhausted. He keeps trying to pull guard but he eats big elbows and punches. Rd 3 ends and its a clear 10-9 for Fanjoy. Great showing. Judges see it the same and have 30-27 for Fanjoy on all 3 cards. ** Cody Blades vs Justin Carr ** Rd 1: Blades sprints across the cage for an immediate takedown and gets it. Carr covers up as Blades unloads, forcing the quick stoppage. **Sharon Jacobson vs Aleeta Munion** Rd 1: They come out both throwing haymakers. Jacobson slows it down and bites down on her mouthpiece and absolutely unloads combos to Munions face. Most people would be kod, but Munion hangs in there. Jacobson then lifts Munion over her head and slams her hard. Jacobson finishes up with punches on the mat. The crowd goes nuts! **James Cannon vs Keishaun Hill** Rd 1: Big back and forth between the heavyweights throwing bombs. Cannon hits a great throw on Hill. He tries again, but winds up under Hill. Hill punishes Cannon for the rest of the round with strikes. 10-9 Hill Rd 2: Cannon tries for the throw once more and winds up under Hill again. The bombs drop again. They get to their feet where Hill promptly takes Cannon down. He overwhelms Cannon with strikes and the ref has seen enough and stops the fight. Keishaun Hill via tko. **George Hernandez vs Romaine McRoberts** Rd 1: Hernandez comes in with a stiff left then gets the double leg takedown. He works to side control and throws lefts to the body. Hernandez gets full mount and unloads. McRoberts has nowhere to go and taps to strikes. **Chris Kirtley vs Demarius McDaniel** Rd 1: Great back and forth as both guys swing at each other. Both are landing shots, so Kirtley goes for the takedown. He gets it and goes straight to mount and after many unanswered punches, the refs stops it. **Chris Saucedo vs Jonathan Santa Maria** Rd 1: JSM measures his opponent, while Saucedo measures with leg kicks. They go back and forth with neither really stealing it. 10-9 JSM by the slimmest of margins. Rd 2: JSM hits a big overhand right that doesnt even move Saucedo . Saucedo lands some clean strikes. Both guys missing. A lot of movement going on. Pretty even round, but I lean toward Saucedo with the better shots. 10-9 Saucedo Rd 3: JSM opening up with hard leg kicks and accurate punches. Chris firing back and landing. They brawl and go at it. While JSM landed the more crisp punches, Saucedo was the aggressor. 10-9 JSM Judges see it 30-27 on all cards for JSM. Great fight! **Ty Freeman vs Julian Hernandez** Rd 1: Freeman bullrushes. Takedown. Brutal GNP. Over. Freeman is a monster. **Arian Sharifi vs Jordan Delano** Rd 1: Jordan gets the quick takedown. Darby is stuck in the crucifix position and taps to an americana. **Paul Newberry vs Matt Struthers** Rd 1: Newberry connects with a hard right hand, rocking Struthers. He goes for the takedown and finally gets it after some good defense. Newberry gets side control and does some violent ground and pound. Struthers stands up and turns his back and the ref does his job and stops the fight. **Kristy Lopez vs Katie Castro** Rd 1: Castro comes out aggressive and then clinches. Lopez takes her down from there and puts Castro against the fence where she mercilessly pounds away on her. The ref has seen enough and calls a halt to the action. Your winner by tko, Kristy Lopez. **Abisai Lopez vs Coby Oneill** Rd 1: Rock em Sock em robots!!! Both guys swinging hard until Oneill lowers the boom and looks to have Lopez out on his feet. Lopez covers up as Oneill tries to finish. Oneill punches himself out and Lopez capitalizes. He lands hard shots up until the bell and finishes the fight via ref stoppage at the horn. Wow! **Matt Betzold vs Jimmy Marquez** Rd 1: Marquez goes for a body kick and Betzold catches it and gets the takedown. Betzold is all over Marquez on the ground and spends the entire time passing guard and landing brutal punches. Marquez does however defend well and makes it out of the round. 10-9 Betzold. Rd 2: Betzold goes for the takedown but Marquez is able to avoid it. Betzold tries again, but gets it this time. Hes like a leach on Marquez. He is all over Marquez and after some GNP, he finally he gets the RNC. Impressive once again, for Matt Betzold. **Scott Bromage vs Rick James** Rd 1: James starts by working a stiff right straight kick. He gets a knockdown using it. James has some really crisp strikingand is in total control. The round ends as James lands a perfectly placed head kick that drops Bromage. 10-9 James Rd 2: James continues the onslaught and drops Bromage with a hard punch. Bromage is tough and hanging in there! James is punishing Bromage with kicks and punches. He reminds me of Paul Daley. Really impressive showing thus far, by James. 10-9 James Rd 3: Bromage gets the message from his corner and starts the round aggressive. Hes pushing the action and pressuring James, who looks tired. James seems to settle back in and starts picking Bromage apart and he is the aggressor now. He lowers the boom and hits a nasty left high kick, koing Bromage. Wait til you see the video of this one guys. Wow. **Cordell Williams vs Ozzy Van Dyke** Rd 1: Williams gets a body lock slam takedown after a barrage of punches. Its a big slam and Van Dyke lands face first with his arms trapped. It ends after some violent GNP. **Alex Higley vs Shawn Stephenson** Rd 1: Short feeling out process and Stephenson gets a takedown and throws punches from guard. Higley gets up and lands a big body kick and gets on top of Stephenson, where he unloads punches and gets the tko. 2nd straight impressive XFS showing for Mr Higley! **Luiz Bam Bam Moralez vs Nick Wesley** Rd 1: Bam Bam and Wesley come out firing. Wesley is much taller so hes looking to clinch, but Bam Bam is looking to brawl. Wesley gets his back and works for a choke but Bam Bam fights it off. Back to their feet and Bam Bam lands some really good punches. Close round, but I have to give it 10-9 to Wesley Rd 2: Punches again from both guys. Bam Bam kicks from Wesleys back and lands a shot that knocks out Wesleys mouthpiece. Wesley gets him down and works the rest of the round on Bam Bams back, trying subs and throwing strikes. 10-9 Wesley Rd 3: Bam Bam wants to bang, but Wesley closes the distance and gets a takedown. He gets the RNC on Bam Bam. Great back and forth fight! **Kris Armbrister vs Ricky Pulu** Rd 1: Pulu lands a few hard punches to Armbrister. Cruz gets directly into mount and drops hard elbows and the ref stops the fight. **XFS Lightweight Title Fight** Chris Taco Padilla vs Aaron Neveu Rd 1: Taco gets a takedown and works his GNP. Neveu fouls with a kick on the ground, but it was more of a technicality than anything. No damage was done. They are stood up and Taco gets the takedown again working GNP. They were stood up again because Neveu may have gotten his hand in Tacos glove or they just got restarted. Neveu gets the takedown and sinks in a deep RNC as the rd ends. When I say deep, I mean, Neveau was on the verge of finishing the fight. Still, Taco wins the round 10-9. Neveu is a bloody mess with multiple cuts. Rd 2: Taco is brutalizing Neveus face and the doctor checks on him. They dont restart with Taco in Neveus guard, rather they start back on the feet. They continue and Taco gets the Takedown again. He once again works GNP until the end of the round. Neveu never stops looking for subs the entire time. 10-9 Taco Rd 3: Taco smashes away again. He is on top landing punches. For whatever reason, the ref stands the guys up, despite Taco actively throwing punches from Neveus guard. The fight ends and I have a clean sweep for Taco. New XFS champ, Chris Taco Padilla. Only 18 years old. Big props to Neveu who is a bonafide stud and threatened with subs the entire time. **Kris Bruno vs Deondre Gibbs** Rd 1: Gibbs tries for a guillotine as Bruno fights it off. Bruno gets out and reverse him and sinks in a RNC in the 1st round. Kris The Jerk is back. **Alex Soto vs Davonte Ford** Rd 1: Takedown by the UFC veteran Soto, right away. From full mount, he pounds away, prompting the quick tko stoppage from the referee. **Saul Galindo vs Leo Martinez** Rd 1: They exchange strikes and Saul gets the big takedown. He flattens Martinez out and pounds away from the back. The tko comes quickly in round #3 for Galindo, who continues to be a terror in the 155 division.
