Vacancy - Ministry of Health - IT Services and Support Technician Ministry of Health, Wellness, Human Services and Gender Relations Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the Posts of IT Service and Support Technician, National Health Management Information System (NHMIS) INTRODUCTION The NHMIS Unit of the Ministry of Health is responsible for the development and implementation of the National Health Management Information System which carries the name of SLUHIS (Saint Lucia National Health Management Information System). SLUHIS is a comprehensive patient based health information system designed to enable the effective management of health data, and will assist administrators and the Government by extension; to make evidence based decisions aimed at improving the quality of healthcare on the Island. SLUHIS is currently implemented at 25 primary health care sites island wide, with plans to further implement at the New National and St. Jude Hospital in the near future. SCOPE OF WORK: Duties 1 . Provide end user application support during the implementation of the NHMIS. 2 . Assist in the configuration of the NHMIS and other software applications on remote workstations. 3 . Troubleshoot and rectify Local Area Network problems. 4. Participate in system tests during the implementation of the NHMIS at remote sites Relationship and Responsibilities 1 . Work under the direction of and report to the IT Project Manager. 2 . Provide support to end users located at remote Health Facilities during the implementation of the NHMIS. Qualifications and Experience 1 . Computer Repair Technician, Associate Degree from the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College or equivalent. 2 . Basic knowledge of networks. 3 . Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Windows XP or later. 4 . Knowledge of the LINUX operating system would be an asset. Conditions of Service 1 . Salary and conditions of service will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. 2 . Duration of employment will be for a period of one (1) year in the first instance. 3. The prospective candidate is expected to own a vehicle for the performance of his/her duties.
