Valley Street Cemetery. I noticed Mr. Mooers needed some help. He and his memory are now standing tall again right next to his beloved wife. I spent the afternoon this past Monday paying respects to the people in this cemetery whose memories have been lost, gone, forgotten and neglected. Im going back soon and Im bringing friends. There were some stones I just couldnt move alone. This place is full of the people who gave us this city: Fred Smyth, mayor of Manchester AND governor of NH; Zeke Straw, the guy who mapped out all the streets of Manchester; Mary Elliot, founder of Elliot Hospital; and so many more. This cemetery is a mess. Something needs to be done. NOW. This place should be treated like an outdoor museum; not a smelly, abandoned watering hole for homeless people.
