Veterans Demand Resignations In yesterdays report we told you about the growing scandal at the Obamas Department of Veterans Affairs. Whistleblowers are coming forward with shocking details of delayed medical care, document destruction and unnecessary deaths. The problems have existed for years and there appears to be no resolution in sight. In an extraordinarily rare move yesterday, Daniel Dellinger, national commander of the American Legion, demanded the resignations of three top Department of Veterans Affairs officials, including Secretary Eric Shinseki. Here are excerpts of his statement: It has been more than 30 years since The American Legion has called for the resignation of a public official. Its not something we do lightly. … The existing leadership has exhibited a pattern of bureaucratic incompetence and failed leadership that has been amplified in recent weeks. …There needs to be a change, and that change needs to occur at the top. Citing chronic mismanagement and systemic failures of the VA under his leadership, Rep. Mike Coffman (R-CO), chairman of the House Veterans Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee, also demanded Shinsekis resignation yesterday. But the White House is digging in and dismissed calls for accountability. A White House spokesman said last night that President Obama remains confident in Secretary Shinsekis ability to lead the Department. So once again we see corruption and mismanagement -- from the top down!
