His Royal Highness King Benz has recently alerted his loyal serfs in the Royal Province of Golden Hills that there is sedition and rebellion in their ranks! Recall that all Benz serfs pay homage to the Royal Family by doing business only with Benz Operations. Shockingly, there are serfs in Golden Hills who would dare suggest that they should be permitted to have their curb-side trash pickup service provided by the sworn enemy of our great Kingdom of Benz, this interloper, J. Torres, Inc. In a letter sent to all serfs, His Highness King Benz laments the unjustice of it all, complaining that these bad serfs, these rebels, these … these … these independent libertarian treasonable bad serfs … Oh my Gosh! They have dragged … Literally DRAGGED the Royal Family, his court jesters and hangers-on into this fray. Complicating matters for the Royal Family is the problem that the legal counsel of the Empire of LAFCo, to whom the Kingdom of Benz must pledge allegiance, has supported with legal arguments the right of those bad serfs to commit this violence against the Kingdom of Benz. In an effort to re-establish order in the Kingdom, King Benz, in his letter to his loyal subjects (ie: the serfs who know their place), that henceforth serfs may only receive information from those websites pre-approved by the Royal Court. Serfs caught seeking independent sources of information – especially those that authenticate their writings with verifiable documentation, might well face the confusion of knowing too much. Beware, the disloyal serfs! Listen only to King Benz and his Royal Entourage! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - In a nutshell, this is the real message Mr. Benz wanted to convey in his recent letter to the residents of Golden Hills. Unfortunately, Mr. Benz’ letter is not so much the joke portrayed above. The distortions, misrepresentations and out-and-out false statements are a disservice to Benz Corporation, its employees and its customers. Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, commented that all enterprises must earn their keep, or they will disappear. Benz sees it differently. Benz is afraid of competition, free markets and American capitalism. Benz wants a monopoly and the unearned profits that a monopoly provides. And when the Benz monopoly is threatened, Benz threatens litigation – and then quite often does file suit. That’s the real story of what is happening in Golden Hills. Below is the video clip of me, Adrian Maaskant, initially making the “Kingdom of Benz” statement at the October 23, 2013 LAFCo meeting. After making this “Kingdom of Benz” statement, Mr. Paul Benz Sr. protested, stating that he saw this as a personal attack on the Benz family. Making personal attacks was not my intention, so I publicly apologized to Mr. Benz and the Benz family at that same meeting. I now retract that apology. The Benz letter recently sent to Golden Hills residents, in which the Benz Organization ruthlessly and dishonestly attacks the integrity of our Golden Hills CSD Board and attacks our community, reveals that the Benz family lives by a double standard wherein they feel free to make personal attacks, but are offended if they are criticized or satirized.
