Visitors O’Plenty Last week Rebecca Frazin from Representative - TopicsExpress

Visitors O’Plenty Last week Rebecca Frazin from Representative Brad Schneider’s office joined us as well as perspective new member Charmaine Harris and her son (see below) Robert Ware. Chuck Gutman introduced Robert Ware, a senior at WHS who attended a World Affairs Seminar in June partly sponsored by Rotary. The topics discussed at the weeklong seminar were social injustice and racial equity. Robert said he had a great time and keeps in contact with many of the participants who came from all over the US and 24 countries. The seminar took place at Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin. When Robert graduates next spring he is hoping for an appointment to the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. We wish him luck in his dream of a career in the US Navy! Queen of Hearts Winner It seems like Bob Haymaker has handled more cards this year than a Las Vegas blackjack dealer. Everytime our speaker read off the last three numbers of the winning ticket we were getting used to seeing Bob’s hand shoot up. Well last week it paid off in spades (hearts?) and he will take home half the pot as the Queen of Hearts winner. Gurnee Days was last Sunday and a whole herd of Rotarians joined in to help sell tickets. The weather was great and lots of cool cars and car aficionados running around. Bob and Lisa sold tickets Saturday night at Winthrop Harbors Harbor Fest.
