Job Description: This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling all warehouse activities for the McClure Road warehouse. This includes the oversight of the shipping and receiving staff, building supervision, and maintaining a safe, efficient, and effective warehouse operation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. People: Supervise daily shipping and receiving/warehouse operations a. Ensure employee and product safety, enforcing regulatory and corporate policies. b. Promote employee engagement and involvement in operational success. c. Schedule labor to meet service and operational requirements while minimizing costs. 2.Service: Maintain excellent customer service to Distribution Centers, Customers, and Suppliers a. Order Fill: Achieve targeted order fill rates and on-time delivery b. Receiving: Unload materials in accordance with Receiving schedule 3.Costs: Manage operations within planned budgets a. People: Manage staffing and scheduling to minimize overtime and absenteeism costs. b.Facilities: Maintain equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) and building operations c. Product: Maintain inventory control and ensure proper handling and rotation of finished goods and materials to minimize damage and obsolescence. Management Skills 1. Strong customer service orientation with the capacity to interact with Sales personnel, Warehouse team, other managers, vendors, and drivers. 2. Ability to operate under pressure and prioritize effectively. 3. Maintain warehouse staff job performance by coaching, guiding, and disciplining employees. 4. Train and onboard new employees as necessary. Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. Knowledge and Skills Requirements 1. Self-starter with strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team 2. Basic computer skills (Microsoft application) 3. Attention to detail and ability to complete required documentation for shipping product (Bill of Ladings, etc.) 4. Ability to read and interpret reports 5. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred 6. LEAN manufacturing expertise desired Certifications and Licenses Forklift Certification desirable Required Education and Experience 1. A minimum of 2 years prior experience managing a warehouse or distribution center 2. A minimum of 2 years working in a food manufacturing facility or similar environment preferred 3. High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred Work Schedule and Location 1. The typical work week is 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week. Scheduled hours may vary based on business need. 2. This role is onsite at the McClure Road location. Work Environment & Conditions Work is normally performed in a warehouse/production type atmosphere where the temperature is as low as 32 degrees, low environmental temperature levels. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed occasionally to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and hazardous chemicals.
