WE MUST! We must act today, we cannot wait for someone else to do - TopicsExpress

WE MUST! We must act today, we cannot wait for someone else to do so, it is we who must, and we must act today because tomorrow is uncertain and it is the procrastination of yesterday that has led us to the questions we have and void we feel, today. We must act now. Time alone does not solve our problems and neither does action, rather it is action over time. WE MUST be the change We must move beyond a position that what we say, decides our character, to a to belief that it is what we do. Speaking of poverty is not enough, speaking of love over hate is not enough, speaking of reform in education and government is not enough, speaking about citizens that work 40+ hours a week and still do not make enough to provide a decent roof over their families heads, food in their families belly, clothes on their families back is not enough. It is not enough. It was not enough for Martin and it cannot be enough for us. We must begin to act on that which we speak of and believe in. WE MUST act We must start seeing ourselves as each other. What do you or would you want for yourself? Peace? Love? Equality? Respect? Prosperity? Education? Then that is the very thing you should want for another. IF you were to take the opportunity to speak to someone on government assistance, someone who is homeless, someone who is blind, someone who is autistic, someone who is rich, someone who is Republican or Democrat, Black, White, Brown, or Yellow, someone who lives on the other side of the world….you would find that they too had a mother and a father, they too, like you, came from a father’s seed and a mother’s womb, yes, they too like you are human and were NOT dropped off by some imaginary stork. Yes, in some ways their story may differ from yours, but realize that they’re story could have been yours, and in that simple understanding realize that we have far greater similarities between one another than we have differences. WE MUST see ourselves in each other. I believe in a great many things, because I believe in possibilities. I also believe in magic. I believe in the type of magic that great people of the distant past and not so long ago believed in. People like Gandhi, Mother Theresa, and Martin Luther King jr. These great people believed in the magic of love, they lived to love, they created change through love, and they did so positively changing the world then and forever by wielding the magical wand that is love. They did so not only through belief but actively through actions and involvement. We have to begin to love and understand love is an action word. It is something that we actively choose do. WE MUST love. -Amir A.H. Jackson, NCM Foundation, Founder
