WE NEED FOSTERS !!! Please help these poodles! We have a desperate need for three dogs to be placed into new foster homes (refostered); none are because the fosters dont want them. The fosters circumstances have changed and we need to help them by moving the dogs. #1) Princess--female mini---- white, 13 lbs, housebroken (started having accidents and was put on hormone therapy pills which has solved that issue). Princess is a nice dog who is a bit of an alpha female wanna be; the home she is in has several toy alphas in hospice care along with at least one being blind and with Princess size if she tries to assert herself the foster is concerned that one of the littles could be hurt. Princess was sadly given up when her owner became homeless and could find a place where she could go taking her dog too; she did find a home but had to give up Princess because the person had a big rather aggressive dog and it wouldnt work for Princess. Because of not being able to care for the dog over the last several years Princess teeth were horrible---they have all been removed and she has healed and she is doing fine without them; she had a fatty tumor removed during the dental too; she came in with a complex UTI but that has been taken care of after a few rounds of antibiotics. #2 Harrie---male mini----11 yrs old, white, about 15 lbs, diabetic. HE NEEDS TO BE AN ONLY DOG because he doesnt like other dogs; he guards his food but is doing better under routine which is another reason for no other dogs; he does great with people. Harrie is a perfect gentleman at the groomer; Groomer says he’s one of the nicest fosters she has groomed - will make a wonderful addition as an only dog the right family. He loves walks and playing and takes his insulin like a champ. Harrie recently had cataract surgery on his left eye---he is healing well. Harrie is very settled into his foster home---they have to leave the country for 3-6 months which is why he needs a new foster home. He came in wanting to be in control; with guidance the foster has done a really good job with him; there was one incident when she tried to introduce him to another calm dog and he went for the dog with her putting her arm out to protect the dog and harrie got her arem instead---he did not try to bite the foster----this confirmed that Harrie needs to be the only dog in a home. Being an only dog in a foster home is near impossible for our fosters---but if you know of someone who would like to foster that has no other dogs please have them apply. HARRIE NEEDS A NEW PLACE BY MID FEB AT THE VERY LATEST. #3 Auggie---male mini---apricot, 10 yrs, 12 lbs---came into FPR in August in beyond-bad shape from a hoarding case---he has been in two foster homes (one in St Pete and most recently in Ft Pierce). The reason for his need to move is that the fosters family is moving out and she works long hours and Auggie will be left at home alone for many hours daily. Auggie needs to be watched still in regards to housebreaking (training with a belly band on to protect floors or having him connected to you without it works best). A diligent mostly home foster will be able to help him rapidly (those of you who know about Brad Pitt and my Ozzie will understand what he needs)---Auggie is an extremely sweet boy who loves his humans and walks and playing. His is on thyroids meds daily. We need to refoster these dogs ASAP to help the foster parents who have them. If you could please help it would be very appreciated----if you would like to talk more to any of the foster parents please let me know and I will give you their contact information.
