WEDS NIGHT RANT Ive always been a student of success and hope - TopicsExpress

WEDS NIGHT RANT Ive always been a student of success and hope my wee daughters understand what it takes to be a success in all areas of their lives to. How much will they follow by example I wonder or even pay attention?? Ive been successful in almost everything Ive done then either given up, got drunk or went onto something new - never really sticking to anything long enough. Other people I know have been a major success at one thing for a long time but everything else was left by the wayside and withered and died. People say you need balance but Im always scared they mean: just coast along and dont get too worked up about anything - a bit like everything in moderation (bullshit mumble, mumble) I think if you are going to do anything: do it to the max. Lose the weight (get friggin slim), do your best work, play with the kids hard out, sell that fookin home NOW!, eat a tonne of fruit and veggies, write the song or book that will be a number one, score the lover with the biggest whatevers... Be radical with yourself. I became vegan for example, because most vegans I know are slim, I dont have to think too hard to eat or buy food (its pretty simple), animals are my friends and its fookin healthy compared to what the rest of you lot eat! A bit radical but I got results and Ill live, disease free til Im 95yrs for my girls (I hope). Next: real estate, I chose to get into real estate because its one of the toughest sales jobs Ive seen but if you stick with it and follow those before you - bam - success is all down to YOU - its one industry where if you dont get along with people and cant handle daily rejection youre sunk. Some Pommie dude lamented to me once at the gym in NZ (he was super fit and smart, rare combo in a Pom me thinks:) Dont put up with yourself or cover up your failings with bullshit. Look hard into that fookin mirror. Do what you need to do - if youre a fat bastard (I was) deal with it - its a yes and no switch. Yes - youll really do what it takes, No things stay the same - nothing in between the switch buddy. The hardest decision is deciding WHEN to flip the switch to YES. So how to teach my girls to be a real success? Not fannyarse about and sort of do it but really be successful, sometimes go against the norm, ignore naysayers (especially those that might be close to them), not get bogged down in crappy fears, have high standards and live life with a mallet in one hand and a heart in the other! Your thoughts... (And if anyone says Oh but youll love your girls no matter what they decide blah, blah - NO I wont, they will be disowned and dis-willed and wont receive a single piece of my Mums owl collection!)
