WELL......someone got ROYALLY SCREWED last night in Scottsdale AZ! The winner of the FAKE Frank & Jesse PHOTO paid a total of $14,160 (including 18% Buyer Premium), for what is actually a genuine $5 Tintype of 2 unknown young men!!! At least no one paid their Est Value of $40-60K!?? I was only made aware of this auction item on Wed and immediately posted to F & J, and QPR stating repeatedly that this WAS NOT Frank OR Jesse.......and heard from 3 TRUE JJ EXPERTS who concurred with my assessment of the image (tho it doesnt take an EXPERT to plainly see this aint them)! Yesterday morning I posted to the J. Levine Auction F/B Page that this was NOT the Boys and that it would be FRAUD if they sold it as such, which stayed up for an hour or so before they pulled it! So I posted to their Wall again that I appreciated the removal of my earlier post (which only verified my suspicion of their intent to proceed), but that I was not going away and would make a complaint to the AZ Atty General of Fraud if they did proceed w/o making disclosure of my dispute to their (BS) Authentication.......which actually stayed up a couple of hours before they pulled it, and BANNED ME!!! Not to be deterred I called them (480-496-2212) telling the young lady there of the FALSE ID/AUTHENTICATION of the Lot and that it would be outright Fraud to proceed.....and that I could put them in touch with 3 or 4 actual experts from Friends of the James Farm, the Jesse James Farm & Museum & The James Preservation Trust!! She put me on hold for a couple of minutes before she came back and brushed me off with Ill pass that on to the Catalog Dept, w/o even asking for my name or #!!! That really chapped my ass so 2 hours before the Auction I called the Scottsdale Police Dept to forewarn them of a major Fraud about to go down in their jurisdiction at J. Levine Auction and Appraisal....and said theyd put an officer on it who would probably be calling me back....which they did about an hour later! I explained my case and the fact of my being blown off 3 times, but the officers opinion was that it would be a civil matter and would be a case of Buyer Beware......I told him I was a TX Realtor and that if I sold a property with known defects or issues w/o proper prior disclosure it was FRAUD, at least here in Texas!!? He said he might cruise over and take a look, but that he didnt think there was anything he could do to stop it, and I said Id just like to see him at least try to put the fear of God in em before they dropped the hammer!!? He did not go by there, but did call me back for my full name, DOB etc to properly document my complaint in case anything did come of this willful/premeditated FRAUD!! Levine Auction & Appraisal LLC of Scottsdale AZ!? If not, Im sure all of us in the F & J James Community will have to deal with this (FAKE) AUTHENTIC IMAGE for years to come!!?
