WHAT DO YOU RECALL? BIBLE THOUGHT: Nehemiah 4:12-14 Then as I looked over the situation, I called together the nobles and the rest of the people and said to them, Dont be afraid of the enemy! Remember the Lord, who is great and glorious, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes! YOUR MEMORY is a very powerful tool for overcoming any evil threat, especially when you are faced with life threatening issues. Fear or faith at such times is a product of what you remember in your heart. Faith gives you victory, while fear sponsors defeat. And you are responsible for what you remember! What you recall in your memory influences how you respond or react at any time. And what you sow into your memory, determines what you can recalls. There is no neutral position in this matter. Like in the days of Nehemiah, he was well acquainted with these truths. He said to his people, Dont be afraid of the enemy! Remember the Lord, who is great and glorious... In other words, Nehemiah is saying to you and I that, what we recall in our minds about God, is critical to our victory in the face of any threatening situation. The writer of the book of Lamentations x-ray Nehemiahs words in the third chapter. It states, This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope: Through the Lords mercies we are not consumed, because His compassion fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness (see Lamentations 3:21-23). Recalling the mercies and the faithfulness of God in your heart is the baseline for experiencing victory when the odds are against you. The mercy of God works inspite of human inadequacies and failures. When Gods compassion shows up in any situation, the rules change. Perhaps, right now you are facing an issue in your health that experts consider as life threatening. Remember a threat is a possibility, while the mercies and the faithfulness of God are certainties and absolutes. They are unfailing. Children of God, what you recall when you are faced with a threat, will promote either faith or fear. Fear leads you out of the plan of God for your life. Faith connects you to the plan of God and gives you victory over any threat. The history of an impending danger does not diminish the faithfulness of God. He is forever faithful. Feed on the testimonies of Gods faithfulNess in the lives of other people. It is a great way to prepare for a recall in the time of need. Dont be afraid. God is greater than any threat. OLord, as the whole world acknowledge your greatness, that You are greater than any threat or Challenge and all threat can change Your faithfulNess towards us. King of Glory! Thank You Lord in Jesus name. Amen.
