WHAT NATION, WHAT PEOPLE? If you loved movies as a kid you will remember sound of music that featured Christopher Plummer (captain) and Julie Andrews (Fola Maria). You will remember Fola Marias epic songs especially the one that says what will my future be, I wonder. What is our future as a nation and as a people. This has become the most corrupt nation in the world and has the most docile citizens in the world. This has become a nation completely and continuously raped by the leaders while the people are happy to buy lubricants. All you hear is 12 billion naira fraud at NAPEP. 32 billion naira pension scam. 255 million naira car scandal. 6 billion naira power scam. 1 trillion naira fuel subsidy scam etc. These are all perpetrated by leaders yet citizens hail leaders and revel in the opportunities to take pictures with them and shake their filthy hands. Yet when groups genuinely hold anti corruption events to talk and protest, citizens sit at home. I hear citizens call for revolution here and there yet no one wants to cast the first stone. Each person waits for the other. How do you survive as a citizen if you are docile and wallowing in complicity. How do you sit at home and watch students languish under the uncaring attitude of leaders? WHAT NATION, WHAT PEOPLE. WHAT A SHAME.
