WHEN WE QUESTION GOD: Words cannot describe, neither can mankind comprehend the terrible sadness that is felt in the event of a terrible loss. The United States felt it on September 11, 2001 (9/11) and so did The Bahamas on November 9, 2014 (11/9). It grips not only the nation, but the world at large. It causes us to question God - What are you doing?, Why did you let this happen?, Why are you putting me through this?, Why have you abandoned me?. In the midst of tragedy, we even question our faith - if God is such a good God, why does He allow bad things to happen, especially to good people? While these questions arise, none of us really has the answers to give. Terrible situations force us to take a deeper look at our faith, but the real question that is simply too hard to even fathom is whether we can really experience God and appreciate His presence in our lives without enduring pain, suffering and often unbearable hardships? Can we really have a testimony without a test? What good is it to be a victor without first being a victim? How effective is our worship if we are not first a witness? Today, we must realize that when we question God, we have to do it in the right way. Questioning and trusting Him go hand in hand. He is the right one to ask because He is fully in control of everything. Remember who He is. Continue to honour, reverence and affirm what you know to be true of Him.
