WHO OWNS THE NIGER DELTA OIL? This is a big question that the right answer, if acceptable to all, will bring an end to our socio-economic political problems, once and for all. LETS TRY THIS GEOGRAPHICAL ANALYSIS AS A PRELUDE TO OUR ANSWERS. IN the study of River formation under the syllabus PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY A river has young age, middle age and old age. That is, formation stage which is the source of the river. Then transportation stage which is the entire length of the river. And of course the deposit stage which is always at the mouth of the rivers or the Delta end where we have many tributaries or smaller rivers. Debris of unimaginable volume are transported along the river course over million of years. overtime these debris are deposited at the Delta area forming layers of sedimentary rocks. crude oil is a big by product of sedimentary rocks. without the debris, u cannot have sedimentary rocks, and without sedimentary rocks you cannot have crude oil. WHERE DID THE DEBRIS COMES FROM? RIVERS NIGER AND BENUE with hundreds of tributaries passes through many lands, even outside NIGERIA. And they pull along tons of debris into the Delta area to form crude oil. THEREFORE NIGER DELTA AND PEOPLE OF SOUTH-SOUTH SHOULD NOT LAY SOUL CLAIM ON OIL DEPOSIT THERE. WE ALL OWN THE OIL, AS WE ARE ALL CONTRIBUTORS TO ITS FORMATION. IT SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN A BASIS OF DISUNITY BUT OUR FORTRESS OF HARMONY.
