WHY NOT CALL A SPADE, A SPADE? During his recent state visit to Namibia, President Goodluck Jonathan admitted that there is corruption in Nigeria but countered that the level is being over-exaggerated. Nigeria has recorded police pension fraud of about N30 billion; indicted governors deliberately evading justice; legislators plus ministers profligacy; oil subsidy scam plus national identity card fraud running into billions of Naira; power project scam of US$16 billion and the latest US$20 billion missing oil revenue! What level of corruption does President Jonathan categorize as: (i) Normal corruption; (ii) Exaggerated Corruption; and (iii) Over-exaggerated Corruption?
