WOW!! i must say it has been incredible reading all of your posts today for #nationalPKUnews so inspiring and uplifting. I didnt share my story with my previous post so I will share a little now. For those who dont know me, My name is Amanda Cosburn. I am 26 years old and I have classical PKU. I have struggled off and on with my PKU diet and compliances. I have cheated and eaten things I shouldnt like Rice and Avocado sushi, but never meat or anything high protein. I though its been a constant roller coaster, I have been mostly stable for the past 10 years. I was born and raised in Victoria BC Canada, and have lived in kamloops for the past 2 years with my common law husband cole. We celebrated our 9 year anniversary in july 2014. I graduated from college in 2010 and have been working as a license practical nurse and work in long term care since. I am an advocate for PKU and write a PKU Blog called PKU proud. I Am also on the board of directors for Canadian PKU and allied disorders INC whom I have been volunteering with since 2008. I love to read , swim, bake low protein foods, cook and spend time with loved ones. Including my 2 fur babies Figaro ( cat ) and Puppy Copper. My last level was 8 . My goal is to drop it down under 6 . I drink bettermilk and flavour it with MIO. I love my formula and enjoy drinking it. I feel sick if I do not drink it every 4 hours. I eat mostly low protein and love finding new recipes. It has been such a pleasure interacting with you all!
