WTI Rises Whilst Political Supply Risks Resume On speculation that West Texas Intermediate crude’s drop to a 16 month low this week was considerably an excessive one, the commodity climbed for the second consecutive day, whilst political supply risks resume. In New York, futures climbed as much as 0.9 percent. Based on a survey, U.S.’s retail sales climbed for the month of August, amid last month’s stabilization. This week in London Brent futures dropped 2.5 percent. On the New York Mercantile Exchange in electronic trading, WTI for October escalated 84 cents, having reached $93.67 a barrel. Yesterday’s prices dropped to $90.43, the weakest perceived level since May 1, 2013. On the ICE Futures Europe exchange, based in London, October’s Brent settled at $98.80, having risen as much as 0.7 percent or 72 cents.
