Waiting for you In the rising of the sun I reached out into the world To find a hand The hand of time To hold it still As it digs into my flesh Upon the evening I did sit still waiting Holding back time With myself In the chiming of the church bells Addressing faith Faith in the love I have for you The candle on the altar unlit Waiting for a song to sing The song of hope kneeling in prayer Send her to me, make us one dear God... All candles flicker A shadow on the wall as I stood up There you were, in fading shadows Glowing as the brightest candles Tears came to a rush upon my face I let go of the hand The candles were exhausted Into the dark of the altar steps But the silver light from the moon Gave a glow to your skin I made my way to you Even unsure of my path Unsure where my feet were Taking you aside Trembling upon the rest Of my own bleeding hand upon a pew Letting time catch up It had been days past and months Years had past I had been upon the prayer Of you my love, upon the wait of you Then delivered into my hand Tears began to flow between us I wiped yours and mine fell Upon your fingers too I confessed my love I heard your voice Chime as the church bells A Beautiful intent of love Coming from deep within us both As we finally touched our souls Michelle Teeters 11-17-14
