Walking the road God leads you down requires faith. Faith to - TopicsExpress

Walking the road God leads you down requires faith. Faith to believe He has something good just around the next turn. Since age 6 I have known the call of God upon my life – it has always been a “compass” in most every decision I have ever made. As a teenager I began ministry in my youth group with street evangelism and Bible Quiz after high school I attended Bible College and “formally” entered service as a trained and educated minister in 1990. Since 1992 I have been blessed to be a part of a special family known as the Open Bible Churches (a sister fellowship to the Assemblies of God) who also have their historical roots from the Azuza Street Revival. Over the past few years the Holy Spirit has been leading me to a “turn in the road” – that of transferring my ordination to the Assemblies of God. It was a difficult direction in the sense that Open Bible has been my family for the past 21 years, and a virtue I esteem greatly in my life is loyalty. Three years ago I spoke with my Open Bible pastor about this leading and he encouraged me – just one of the qualities that made this decision even harder – my Open Bible leadership believes in me. Nevertheless, the family of God encompasses both the Open Bible and Assemblies of God and I have very close friendships with brothers and sisters in each. I began the process to transfer and felt a sadness until I again spoke with my Open Bible pastor who gave me his blessing on this decision – Brother Randall I will never forget your encouragement. I knew I had to make this turn the Spirit of God was leading me to take – the season had arrived – the time had come. However – the transfer was not as simple as I imagined – there was paper work and an exam to take – which is fine except I haven’t taken an exam in years and it seemed a bit daunting understanding I might not pass. Yet, the realization this is the leading of the Lord and where He guides, He provides. Yesterday I took the exam – in it – I was asked to describe my call to ministry. Sitting at the desk putting these thoughts onto paper I once again experienced the Spirit of God as I did at age six. He’s never left me – He’s always been with me – I began weeping as I recognized God was leading me and I am right where He wants me to be (I was glad to be alone in the room) – today I was notified I received an A on my exam. Although the process is not completed I am aware I have made the turn - Mark 9:23 All things are possible to those who believe – have faith to follow His leading through every turn in life He has something good in mind. God Bless.
