Wanted to put something out there... I appreciate all of the kind words people have posted on my facebook and even inboxed me. Yall have been so incredibly sweet. I get people asking me about my gym routines, and the like. Which for me... is kinda surprising. Im a bigger dude. Never really thought I was a fitness expert. But since yall asked... Here has led to my Success. 1) Surround yourself with people that support you. John Markham Jay RiordanJustin Sercu Steve Jacobson Kelly Cox all of my inner circle have supported me in obtaining my anti-fat Scott, beefier scott goals. This is VITAL. At the least - remove/insulate anything that pushes against the change you want. 2) Set goals. Make them realistic. Make them dynamic. Make sure you push to be better with each goal. Small manageable bits. Working toward a bigger goal. :) I want to lose 25 lbs. That a lot. Lets try 5 lbs every 2 weeks. and in 10 weeks... we should be close to 25. :) 3) Do not compete with others. This isnt about them. Its about you. Period. You will NEVER look like someone else... you are different than they are. So stop. You will look how you look. Push yourself to be better, but do not set an impossible goal to look like someone who isnt you. 4) Consistency - Treat your new health direction like a job you have to do to. It is vital that you make room for this in your life and when you achieve the goals you set for yourself, you win EVERY TIME, and whats even more amazing... is that you win even when you fail. 5) Small Perturbations - In physics, when we are uncertain about a problem, we imagine an ideal situation and then start perturbing it to see what happens. BIG THINGS come from SMALL CHANGES. Dont go reinvent the wheel. Try small chunks, become comfortable with the results, and perturb the situation again... keep moving towards improvement. 6) LOVE YOURSELF NO MATTER WHAT. that needs no explanation. You should be doing this right now. If you are not, so talk with someone, there are amazing professionals out there that can help you with this. Trust me. Reality Check: I have my days when all of these are in doubt or are difficult or I am just so tired. Be honest with yourself. Do what you can do and just a little more. If you cant... you cant. We all have shitty days. But make sure you go the next day. Everyday cant be bad and if it is, then suck it up and go. You might feel better. If out of all of this... you still have doubts, then in all likelihood the gym isnt the answer for you right now, find another method to maximize your health and happiness. Trial and Error. :) Anyway. Just thought Id share. Hope yall are good. Happy weekend folks.
