Waste. Fraud. Abuse. Spending sprees by the GAO and the IRS. Lavish conferences held in the lap of luxury. The bureaucrats live large. The people struggle to live. How many sickening stories of waste, fraud and abuse do we need to read to understand that the system is broken, the government is out of control, the stewards of our tax dollars are drunk with their own power and position? Okay, how about one more story – about The Environmental Protection Agency. Keep in mind this is one of those arrogant, power-mad federal agencies that throws its weight around, telling us how we should behave. And yet…. The EPA’s Office of Inspector General (the watchdog for waste, fraud and abuse) has just issued a scathing report entitled “Early Warning Report: Main EPA Headquarters Warehouse in Landover, Maryland, Requires Immediate EPA Attention“. And wait’ll you hear why the words “Immediate Attention” are used to describe deplorable conditions and grossly irresponsible management at this huge government facility.
