The December 1982 cover shot of Tom Groholski alone made this issue amazing, showing the east coast scene and skaters were alive and well while skateboarding was dead and buried - with most skateparks having fallen to the dozers blade by the end of 1980. But the rest of this issue also had important, groundbreaking, and just rad stuff: Rodney Mullen Official showed us how to do flat ground Ollies for the first time in a sequence, Skate and Destroy becomes a phrase that will live forever, various backyard ramp contests from across the country are profiled, Black Flags TV Party gets a skateboarding update in the Pool Party article featuring NorCals pioneers and a cameo by DP, and pretty much every type of skateboarding is included in this issue, as it was in most issues back then.
