We all know what forgiveness means or do we? I had to look it up to really understand what it means to me and Wikipedia has a pretty good definition. It makes a clear distinction between forgiveness, and condoning, excusing, pardoning, forgetting, and reconciliation. If forgiving is merely letting go of vengeful thoughts and wishing the other person well then I accomplished that a long time ago. Sometimes there are bubbles of pain that come up especially when one of my behaviors that was created by the traumatic event, that I have not been able to correct yet, gets in the way of me accomplishing or achieving something.
