We are excited to announce the Diabolique International Film - TopicsExpress

We are excited to announce the Diabolique International Film Festival, September 19th and 20th, 2014 at IU Cinema on the Indiana University campus in Bloomington, Indiana. Friends, fans and filmmakers take note – Dark Carnival is now the Diabolique International Film Festival! Founded nearly eight years ago, the Dark Carnival Film Fest was the first genre festival in Indiana and we worked hard to build a reputation as a unique event with a dedication to indie film and filmmakers. Over the years, that work has paid off, as the festival has received numerous accolades from mainstream and genre media outlets. However we are particularly proud of the many relationships that have been formed at our festival, and the amazing film projects that got their start as the result of those relationships. Over the years the local arts scene, and the festival scene in general, have changed and we have found ourselves compelled to change as well. The majority of film festivals never make it past their first year, and as we begin our eighth, we know that only a tiny fraction ever get to where we are today. As much as anything, we owe our longevity to the filmmakers who have entrusted us with their work, and the dedicated fans who have supported us. You are the reason we do what we do, and we want to give you the best film festival experience we possibly can. To that end, we are pleased to announce our partnership with Diabolique Magazine – one of the fastest growing genre publications in the world. Diabolique covers nearly every facet of horror culture and cinema, with a quality of writing and design that is unsurpassed. The publishers of Diabolique bring their considerable industry connections and marketing reach to the table in a way that we hope will propel this festival forward for many years to come. We present to you, the Diabolique International Film Festival! But that’s not all. In addition to a name change, we’re also excited to announce our new venue at IU Cinema on the Indiana University campus. With state-of-the-art 2K and 4K digital projection (as well as 16mm and 35mm film projection) IU Cinema offers the highest possible projection quality. IU Cinema is also one of only a handful of theaters in the country that is THX certified (and one of only two theaters in the state of Indiana). This amazing venue is one of the keys to fulfilling our pledge to deliver the best festival experience for our patrons and filmmakers. Our call for submissions for the 2014 Diabolique International Film Festival is now open! Visit diaboliquefilmfestival/
