We are living in tough times.The world is turning exactly the opposite way from what we wish for.We are confronted by shocking news and statistics.The rate of divorce is too high.Murder statistics are at an alarming rate.Crime levels have rocketed.Death no longer scares even children.Neighbours and relatives rape children.Husbands are killing wives and kids.Wives are plotting in numbers to eliminate their abusive partners.Our nation is depressed.Regardless of all these social ills,I want to say to you that KEEP THE FAITH, NEVER LOSE HOPE.Writing in his book,Long Walk to Freedom,former president Nelson Mandela says:I am fundamentally an optimist.Whether that is from nature or nurture,I cannot say.Part of being optimistic is keeping ones head pointed toward the sun, ones feet moving forward.The were many dark moments when my faith in humanity was sorely tested, but I would not and could not give myself up to despair.That way lays defeat and death.Lesson-Most of us tend to lose faith because of what other people have done to us.Individuals do not represent the whole humanity.Mahatma Ghandi once said:We must not lose faith in humanity.Humanity is like an ocean:if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.
