We are proud to announce that Ms Goh Kim Nee, AP Dr Jafreezal Jaafar, Dr Emy Elyanee Mustapha, Mr Davindren Arumugam and Mr Eddy Goh Tik Earn will receive the 2014 National Intellectual Property Award in the Copyright category for their invention Automatic Accident Location Detection System (AALDS). AALDS is an integrated hardware and web system that uses accelerometers to detect accidents and send GPS location of the accident to the nearest hospital. With AALDS, hospitals will be able to provide better and faster service to the public in terms of quicker medical attention, thus reducing the fatality rate caused by accidents. AALDS has reduced the time taken to lodge an accident report by 60%. This system manages to eliminate unnecessary miscommunication when lodging a report to the authorities. In addition, our product is enhanced by the usage of accelerometer to detect accident. Its sensitivity enables our system to accurately measure and detect accidents. Ms Goh and her team will receive their award from the Prime Minister at a special award ceremony on 2 October 2014 at PWTC, KL.
