We are very pleased to be working in partnership with Galway City Councils bid to obtain the Purple Flag. As Galways and one of Irelands Largest Security Firms we are honoured to be involved in the bid to obtain the Purple Flag Status for Galway City. Galway is proud to be a safe, welcoming and vibrant city and therefore is an ideal candidate for the Purple Flag in 2014. An accreditation scheme that honours excellence in the appeal and management of a town or city centre area between the hours of 5pm and 5am, the Purple Flag aims to raise the standard and broaden the attractiveness of town-centres at night time: just as Blue Flag is an indicator of a clean beach, Purple Flag is an indicator of where to go for a good night out. Town centres that achieve a Purple Flag will be those that are safe, vibrant, appealing, well-managed and offer a positive experience to consumers. Galways Purple Flag bid is an initiative which, according to City Manager Brendan McGrath, offers the city a unique opportunity to make a further statement that it is a safe and vibrant place for people to do business in the evening and to enjoy. Participation in the programme will help drive up standards in Galway City and allow for better links between businesses and agencies in the city. The scheme recognises high quality shopping, dining, entertainment and hospitality, ensuring a visitor has all they need for a great night out. Purple Flag judges will visit the city on December 5 th and can visit any location or premises within a mapped area. A Purple Flag will help to promote Galway City to the world as a great destination for a great night out. It is a process that provides opportunities for stakeholders to come together and market Galway as a city of excellence in yet another area, said Mr McGrath, who added that the accreditation would improve Galways odds of success in its European Capital of Culture bid, Its about the city yet again achieving excellence in its evening and night-time economy. Purple Flag status can be used for marketing and promoting the city, as the accreditation generates excellent publicity for the successful town and city centres, bringing considerable economic value, while the process also provides a huge opportunity to make significant positive changes to the city at night. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Delta Security Group have a team of dedicated professionals who take pride in mitigating security risk in businesses and organizations throughout the country.
