We congratulate Prof. Thomas Kailath, COEP Alumnus, who was awarded with the National Medal of Science by US President. On 20th November’14, at a White House ceremony, US President Obama presented the National Medal of Science and the National Medal of Technology and Innovation. These awards are the highest honors bestowed by the United States Government for achievements in science, technology, and innovation. Prof. Kailath was among the 19 top scientists and researchers in the USA who were honored with the award. He was honored with the award for transformative contributions to the fields of information and system science, for distinctive and sustained mentoring of young scholars, and for translation of scientific ideas into entrepreneurial ventures that have had a significant impact on industry.
