★ ‘We could have made a film with Akshay or Salman’ With an enviable track record that reads as a superhit WANTED with Salman Khan and a blockbuster ROWDY RATHORE with Akshay Kumar, Prabhudhevahas been enjoying some terrific times at the box office. More overwith a film each planned with Shahid Kapoor, Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan, the director has been working with the who’s who of the industry. No wonder, when producer Kumar Taurani decided to bring himon board and designa launch-pad for debutant Girish Kumar, it was a well thought of decision as well. “Prabhudheva is a very nice gentleman and it is a fact that today, everyone wants to work with him. Honestly, with him on board, we could have made a film with Akshay or Salman. However, he is so passionate about making a film with Girish that he immediately went about the task. RAMAIYA VASTAVAIYA is a remakeof one of his own movies and he has gone all out to give Girish thebest ever launch that a newcomer can get,” says Kumar Taurani. He is also pleased about the fact that since Prabhudheva has a commercial bent of mind, it reflects well in every frame that RAMAIYA VASTAVAIYA, which has Shruti Haasan as the female lead, carries. Says Taurani, “If you see the filmsdirected by Prabhudheva, whether it is WANTED or ROWDY RATHORE, there are so many small things that keep arriving onscreen in a quick time. As a matter of fact, even the smallest of characters areused so very well by Prabhu. Same is the case with RAMAIYA VASTAVAIYA as well.” “I could see how happy Prabhudheva was while making this film,” he adds, “Yes, he understands commercial cinema and that’s the way he has treatedRAMAIYA VASTAVAIYA as well. However it has a lot of heart to it,which shows how much care and affection he has for Girish.” One looks forward to that coming across well on screen as well oncethe film releases all overon 19th July.
