We had a fantastic weekend at MUD. Rebekah Strobel was the coordinator. Here are her reflections: This past weekend over 260 students and their youth leaders met up at Cascades Camp and Conference Center for the biggest MUD retreat ever! It was an incredible weekend filled with crazy games, fantastic music worship (thank you North Park University worship team!), fellowship, making new friends, and growing closer to our Creator. The theme for this year’s retreat was “Light”, and not even the rain could dampen the energy and excitement! The retreat speaker, Carlos Devitis from Peninsula Covenant Church in Redwood City, CA, used the CHIC 2003 benediction to craft five sessions about how we are Light! He challenged us to not just seek a “better” life, but to live a “bigger life”. MC’s Peter Anderson and Rebekah Strobel looked at the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the beginning of every session to both inspire and challenge to be Light in the world. We couldn’t have done this without the help of an amazing planning team- Peter Anderson, Matt Dyment, Nick Pringle, Mark Carlson, Laura Rudeen, Coby Cagle, Claudia Renee Fisher, and Erik Cave. Thank you to all the pastors, youth volunteers and most especially the students who came out! May you jump into the arms of Jesus May he push you out into the world May you be healed as you participate in the healing of others Not because you must, but because you may This is why you were born
