We had a very special guest at the TWR station last week. This Russian man is a pastor. He won a trip to Guam from an airline that is promoting tourism from Russia to the area and he wanted to come and visit the place that changed his life. Here is a portion of his testimony: Years ago I was born in (the) Soviet Union in (a) family who was very far from God. My father, he was one of the communist leader(s) in my town. And my mother, she was a teacher of biology so she prepared evolution in the school. So when I was young, I heard a lot about politics and communism but never heard something about God. But in 1991 my life began to change after some things happened in my life. Because my father was military he must have a special shortwave radio station for any case of war happen in Russia. So he need a radio receiver...short wave radio to receive news and information. So one time in summer of 1991 I take this shortwave radio and just try to tune in the frequency, in the waves, and instantly I catch some shortwave radio station. It was very unusual and interesting for me so I recognized that I can catch many radio stations all around the world. Later I know what it mean(s) to be (a) DX man who catch(es) shortwave, radio stations all around the word, send report and receive special notification card - QSL card. So I became listen(er) (to) a lot of stations around the word, send report to them, and receive QSL card. So one time I found a very interesting program when people speak about God, talk about God. It was Christian radio station from Marianas Islands called KTWR from Guam. So this program interested me. I said, okay, I never heard about God. So every evening during one year I began to listen (to) this Christian radio program. Every day… more and more understanding come to my heart as a dying sinner and I needed Jesus. So, I remember one time in 1992 after one year regular time to listen Christian radio station I came to my home and bowed down and asked Jesus to become my personal Savior and I was born again… It was like.. very real experience I just recognize and understand I am born again Christian… So.I received many of the Bibles and tracts from the radio station that I listen and spread to my community, to my friends. And some of my friends became Christians. So two years later, after I received Jesus, we started a church in Ussuriysk. And now we have about 300 member church and network of churches around our city. And this happen because years ago one time I tuned for radio station.
