We have staffed both headquarters and the south station for the storm, a paramedic staffed ambulance will be moved to the south station for improved response time in that area of town. Please stay home tonight and tomorrow, enjoy the beauty that Mother Nature is throwing our way, and most of all, be safe. Here is a town-wide press release: January 25, 2015 Weather Event Uxbridge Emergency Management and public safety operations continue to monitor the weather reports for the winter storm and wind event expected into the region Monday evening, January 26, continuing into Wednesday, January 28, 2015. After reviewing the most recent forecast, we will be increasing our staffing levels in the necessary Departments to provide ample support to community needs during the pending emergency. The Uxbridge Police Department request parked vehicles be removed from all public ways from 12:00 AM on 1/27/15 through the duration of the storm so Public Safety and Works vehicles may navigate the heavy snow safely. No ATV or snowmobile operation is allowed on public ways, only as prescribed in Massachusetts General law. Homeowners keep your furnace vents free from snow and ice and test your carbon monoxide detectors. Stay clear of any downed utility lines. Energized wires can be fatal. Report downed lines to National Grid at 1-800-465-1212 so they can input the location into the system for a coordinated response. For all emergencies call 911, for non-emergency and business calls, 508-278-7755 or 508-278-0270.
