We just took a little weekend trip to Arkansas and stayed way out in the woods in a rustic cabin. Two of the surprises we found are below. The first is a luna moth, which only lives about a week. Most people don’t get to see one in their lifetime. We saw this one and then we saw another, and watched while a raccoon gobbled it up (all except the wings.) The next image is a strange group of tiny orange mushrooms. The cap of the smallest one is about the size of the end of my pinkie. The largest one is just a bit smaller than a dime. I don’t know what they are, but I was so delighted to find them.
