We live in the context of two world-views: biblical worldview and secular worldview. Your and I are either part of biblical worldview or secular worldview. The urgent question coming to mind is, are the candidates of these two world-views prepared to face each other/challenge each other and tell each other the whole truth in love? These two world-views originate from two main schools. The first school is teaching tolerance when it comes to tolerable issues and intolerance when it comes to intolerable issues. The second school is teaching tolerance on both tolerable and intolerable issues. The latter school seems to forget the famous quote which says, Truth without love is brutality, while love without truth is hypocrisy. -John Stott. The above paragraph indicates that we live in the world of conflict between two world-views. First, we have Christian worldview -a biblical understanding of one God who has the supreme right to require obedience from all of us, and sovereign power to demand submission from His entire creation. Second, we have secular worldview -a theory that believes in freedom from divine source and clings to man-made rules and regulations absolutely free from divine intervention. The urgent question, here or hereafter is, as Christians and for Christian reasons, how should we live between such conflicts, confrontations and confessions? The urgent answer to the above tabled question doesnt only requires renewal of mind in the mindless world, but it demands critical thinking before one answer it. Otherwise, we will cause damages or damnations to our selves, our families and ministries. Before we answer the above tabled question, let us test ourselves with two pre-shaping questions to see if we understand these two main world-views. Let us precociously questioning: First, what is a biblical Christian and what is his/her authority? Second, what is secularism, under what authority do secular people live and operate, and to what extent do secularism wants to govern the world? The simple answers to the above tabled questions are: 1. A biblical Christian is a person who have accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord, whom in Christ Jesus has redemption through Christs blood and the forgiveness of his/her trespasses according to the riches of Gods grace. Such persons authority is the Bible, Gods written word, His recorded work and revealed will. 2. Secularism is system not subject to or bound by religious rules. Such system has no religious or spiritual basis. Although it is forced on men who are worshipers, God needers and God seekers, this system is a hypocritical system, denies God, the reality of life and the evidence of mens need for God. A secular mans authority is man made laws subject to changes and amendments. Secular worldview is a game won mostly by trick players. It requires dirty rules and dirty hands to enable its players to play it dirty tricks. A clean handed person with clear headed and consecrated hearted cannot cope with secularism. A honest person, man of integrate and right mind when it comes the holiness of God vs. the sinfulness of man will never delight in dirty game. Secularism is a philosophy of denial. It denies God and the reality of life. When we declare that, man is a worshiper, a God needers and God seekers, secular worldview doesnt care about mans need for God, grace and the gospel. Secularism is stirred by conflict of interest. Its an untried theory built itself upon a myth. It cannot answer the ultimate question when it comes to life and death, or when it comes to the origin of life; human identity, human dignity, human value, human equality, human right and human responsibility from scientific, or biblical or logical perspectives. This philosophy reminds me of a statement I read in The Hypocrite Diaries which reads: Communist until you get rich; Feminist until you get married; Atheists until the airplane start falling (from the air). -The Hypocrite Dairies.
