We need a new word. A word for something thats not racist, but has implications along racial lines. Take the example of white cop frisking a black man in his 20s. If he did it just cos the man was black, and all jigs are criminals...yeah, thats straight-up racist. If he did it because there was a legitimate call out for a fugitive whos black and in his 20s, and studies show that people of one race have a hard time distinguishing between remotely similar people of another race...thats not racism, but its something we need to discuss and address. We cant use racism because (a) its not accurate and (b) it pisses one side off while putting the other on the defensive. Nothings ever going to change if we use that term. So we need a new word. Any suggestions?
